How to Reserve a Date to Roast Your Book:

The Book Roast is a free promotional site for authors dedicated to celebrating great books! Our mission is to help publicize books of all genres, printed by publishers of all sizes. The Book Roast site assumes that authors have some experience using blogs. Please read the following guidelines for tips and instructions on how to use this site. Thank you!

Step One:
**Click on one of the calendar links below. Then post a comment in that month's post stating your name, book title, and preferred date.** ((We will check the comments and update the calendars on a regular basis.))

*Timings for each Roast are 9am through 9pm New York time.

*Mondays are reserved for Mystery Publisher Day.

*The best days for blog traffic are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, but authors may sign up for any day (excluding Monday).

*You may sign up to promote multiple books, as long as there is at least a two-week space in between books.

*By signing up, you agree to give away one book to a participant of your choosing. You will make arrangements to have a free book sent to the winning participant.

*It's best to schedule a date where you can stop by throughout the day and chit-chat with the blog participants.

Step Two:
**Email your materials.*

*Email the following material to author(underscore)roast(at)hotmail(dot)com:
-Book excerpt in the range of 300-600 words
-Promotional paragraph from your website or book jacket, in the range of 4-5 sentences
-Graphic of book cover-Web site or blog link
-Optional author photo

*Please send all of your material in one email (if possible).

*Please email your material at least two weeks before your scheduled roast date.

*If you must change or cancel your roast date, please email Chris Eldin at chriseldin@hotmail.com with "Schedule Change" in the subject heading.

Step Three:
**Check Book Roast Blog**

*Check the Book Roast blog two weeks ahead of your scheduled date to make sure you're in the "Authors Marinating" section.

*A Roast Master will be in touch to confirm your date.

*On your roast day, drop in early, before 10:00 am, to say hello and initiate conversation.

Other:

*Authors are encouraged to drop by and support other authors during roast days.

*The Book Roast is a free service to authors. Members of the Book Roast team do not accept offers of books or other gifts from authors. But in return for helping authors to promote their books, the Book Roast team asks for authors to spread the word about this site if their experience has been a positive one.

*The Book Roast is not a review site. It's a fun and interactive promotional site for authors. We promote all genres, excluding self-published books and pornography.

*The Book Roast team may occasionally host random and fun events, which will be listed on this calendar.

*The Book Roast team reserves the right to cancel, without notice, roast dates for books which we deem offensive. (Note: we have a very liberal policy, but nevertheless, we have to have this flexibility.)

*The Book Roast team thanks all of the authors who have and who are supporting our site! Thank you!!!
